SUBJECT: PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION ACTIONS-MEETING OF
APRIL 20, 2016
RECOMMENDATION:
The City Council is requested to receive and file the Parks and Recreation Commission
actions from their meeting of April 20 , 2016 .
BACKGROUND:
On April 20 , 2016, the Parks and Recreation Commission held their regularly scheduled
meeting .
ANALYSIS:
Following is a summary of actions taken at the April 20 , 2016 Parks and Recreation
Commission meeting :
1 . ROLL CALL :
Present: Commissioner-Baroldi , Haddad , Vice-Chairman Georgina ,
Chairman Rosso
Absent: Commissioner -None
Excused : Commissioner-Wen
2 . CONSENT CALENDAR
The Parks and Recreation Commission approved the minutes of the March 16,
2016 meeting and received and filed the monthly report for March 2016 .
3 . UNFINISHED BUSINESS -None

4 . NEW BUSINESS
A. REQUEST FOR CONSIDERATION OF A FEE WAIVER FOR RESERVED
USE OF THE PERFORMING ARTS PAVILION FOR THE 2016 NATIONAL
DAY OF PRAYER ON MAY 5, 2016 AND FOR PLACEMENT OF A BANNER
IN TEMPLE CITY PARK ANNOUNCING THE NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER
The Parks and Recreatio n Comm ission approved the request for a fee waiver
and authorized placement of a banner in Temple City Park for a period of two
weeks .
B. REQUEST FROM THE MISS TEMPLE CITY AMBASSADOR PROGRAM
FOR RESERVED USE OF THE PERFORMING ARTS PAVILION AND
GRASS AREAS AT TEMPLE CITY PARK ON SATURDAY , MAY 21 , 2016
FOR A CITYWIDE YOGA EVENT AND WAIVER OF THE FEES
The Parks and Recreation Commission approved the request and waived the
rental fee and deposit.
C. CONSIDERATION OF TIME CHANGE FOR PARKS AND RECREATION
COMMISSION MEETINGS
The Parks and Recreation Commission discussed the possibility of changing
the time for regular meetings of the Commission from 7:30 p.m . to 7 :00 p.m .
The Commission tabled the item .
5. MATTERS FROM CITY OFFICIALS
A . The Commission received the Parks and Recreation Director's Report for
April 2016.
CITY STRATEGIC GOALS:
Approval of the Commission actions of April 20, 2016 furthers the City's Strateg ic Goal
of Citizen Education and Communication .
FISCAL IMPACT:
This item does not have an impact on the Fisc al Year (FY) 2015-16 City Budget.
