HomeMy Public PortalAbout05-06-2004THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, THURSDAY, MAY 6, 2004 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., Thursday, May 6, 2004, in the Community Room at the Municipal Building, 50 North 51' Street, Richmond, Indiana. In attendance were Board Members John Kenny, Dian Lawson and Mary Jo Flood. Also attending were Assistant Attorney Joel Harvey and City Engineer Chuck Greene. The following business was conducted: CALL TO ORDER Kenny called to order and noted for the minutes that all board members and legal council was present for the meeting. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Kenny made a request to approve the minutes for the April 29, 2004 meeting. Lawson made a motion to approve with a second by Flood. The motion was unanimously passed. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Kenny presented the claims for payment from the Finance Department for $519,753.22. Flood made a motion to approve with a second by Flood. The motion was unanimously passed. REQUEST A. Kenny presented to the board a request for the approval of six curb cuts and they are as follows: 1) 2509 Parkdale Drive. Lawson made a motion to approve with a second by Flood. The motion was unanimously passed. 2) 169 SW 15'h Street. Lawson made a motion to approve with a second by Flood. The motion was unanimously passed. 3) 1407 Aspen Court. Flood made a motion to approve with a second by Lawson. The motion was unanimously passed. 4) 1012 South 19'h Street. Flood made a motion to approve with a second by Lawson. The motion was unanimously passed. 5) 21 Elmhurst. Lawson made a motion to approve with a second by Flood. The motion was unanimously passed. Kenny made a request for approval to close the service drive on the south side of the Palladium -Item on May 15, 2004 for their second annual Barks and Bargain Flea Market from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Lawson made a motion to approve with a second by Flood. The motion was unanimously passed. C. Kenny made a request to the board for approval to close NW 3rd, Street from Lincoln Street to Randolph Street, on Friday May 14, 2004 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM, for the School Carnival. Flood made a motion to approve with a second by Lawson. The motion was unanimously passed. D. Kenny presented to the board a request to approve the Rescheduling of the Opening Day Girls Softball Parade that was originally approved for May 8, 2004. The request is for May 15, 2004, starting at 9:00 AM and will last approximately 2 hours. Flood made a motion to approve with a second by Lawson. The motion was unanimously passed. CONTRACTS A. Kenny brought to the board a request to approve the Amendment to the Firefighters Contract for the 2004 to 2007 to revised and correct monthly premiums on health insurance for the retirees. Lawson made a motion to approve with a second by Flood. The motion was unanimously passed. B. Greene presented to the board a request for approval of the Report of Contract Final Inspection for the Streetscape Project 4 9999028. Lawson made a motion to approve with a second by Flood. The motion was unanimously passed. BID OPENINGS Kenny opened bids that were submitted for Aggregate & Bituminous Material. They are as follows: 1) Stonehenge Concrete Co Inc. a. BID AWARDS The bid award on the agenda for the remaining homes for the Owner - Occupied Rehab Grant was tabled until further notice.
