HomeMy Public PortalAbout15-9090 PARTNERSHIP W/MDC FIRE RESCUE MDPD FOR THE SWIMMING POOL AT SHERBONDY Sponsored by: Commissioner Pinder and Commissioner Santiago RESOLUTION NO. 15-9090 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO STUDY THE FEASIBILITY OF DEVELOPING A PARTNERSHIP WITH MIAMI-DADE FIRE RESCUE (MDFR) AND MIAMI-DADE POLICE DEPARTMENT (MDPD) FOR THE USE OF THE SWIMMING POOL AT SHERBONDY VILLAGE FOR THEIR TRAINING IN EXCHANGE FOR MIAMI-DADE FIRE RESCUE PROVIDING FREE SWIMMING LESSONS TO THE RESIDENTS OF THE CITY; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka, Florida, desires to partnership with Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and Miami-Dade Police Departments for the use of the swimming pool at Sherbondy Village in exchange for free swimming lessons for the residents of the City; and WHEREAS,The development of such program will benefit the residents of City. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA LOCKA, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference. Section 2. The City Commission hereby directs the City Manager to study the feasibility of developing a partnership with Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and Miami- Dade-Police Departments for the use of the swimming pool at Sherbondy Village in exchange for free swimming lessons for the residents of the City of Opa-locka, and to bring back the results of the study in 60 days.
