HomeMy Public PortalAbout09-02-2004THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, 2004 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., Thursday, September 2, 2004, in the Community Room at the Municipal Building, 50 North 5t' Street, Richmond, Indiana. In attendance were Board Members John Kenny, Dian Lawson and Mary Jo Flood. Also attending were Adam Forest representing the attorney's office as legal counsel and City Engineer Chuck Greene. The following business was conducted: CALL TO ORDER Kenny called to order and noted for the minutes that all board members and legal counsel was present for the meeting. He explained that Adam Forest was temporarily filling in for the Assistant City Attorney until a full time position is established in the law office. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Kenny made a request to approve the minutes for the August 26, 2004 meeting. Lawson made a motion to approve with a second by Flood. The motion was unanimously passed. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Kenny explained that the checks were printed but because of computer problems that was experienced in the city and the county the software that prints up the claim dockets was not in operation and that they would be brought to the next meeting. REQUEST A. Kenny presented a request that was submitted by Captain Ponder to approve a Reserved Residential Handicapped Parking Sign for Paula Elleman at 241 NW "I" Street. Flood made a motion to approve with a second by Lawson. The motion was unanimously passed. Kenny explained that there was another item on the agenda but it will be brought back to the board next week after they can get more legal guidance on it. NEW BUSINESS Kenny welcomed Adam Forest to the City's Legal Department.
