HomeMy Public PortalAbout10-07-2004THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, THURSDAY, OCTOBER 7, 2004 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., Thursday, October 7, 2004, in the Community Room at the Municipal Building, 50 North 51' Street, Richmond, Indiana. In attendance were Board Members John Kenny, Dian Lawson and Mary Jo Flood. Also attending were Adam Forrest representing the City Attorney's office as legal counsel, Stephanie Glover, Chad Rinehart, Jackie Hancock, and Becky Haley. The following business was conducted: CALL TO ORDER Kenny called the meeting to order and noted for the minutes that all board members and legal counsel were present for the meeting. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Kenny made a request to approve the minutes for the September 30, 2004 meeting. Flood made a motion to approve with a second by Lawson. The motion was unanimously passed. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Kenny made a request to approve the claims for payment in the amount of $327,119.98. Lawson made a motion to approve with a second by Flood. The motion was unanimously passed. BID OPENING A. Kenny presented to the board bids for the Tree Planting for 2004. Those bids are as follows: 1) Rose City Nursery - $13,308.00 2) Rinehart Lawn Care & Landscaping - $13,481.00 3) A. Brown & Sons Nursery, Inc - $13,945.25 4) Brower's Gaar Nursery - $23,914.00 5) Ladd Lawn Care - $37,690.00 6) Pleasant View Nursery - $31,129.26 MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS Kenny recognized some high school students that were present at the meeting to meet some requirements for their Government Class. Stephanie Glover from Mr. Wier's class at Richmond High School was one of the students in attendance. Then there was Jackie Hancock and Becky Haley from Mr. Stevens's class at Centerville High School.
