Member Smith introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
CITY OF MEDINA
RESOLUTION NO.99-72
RESOLUTION APPROVING EXTENSION
OF JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, the Cities of Greenfield, Independence, Long Lake, Maple Plain, Medina, and
Orono entered into a Joint Powers Agreement under the authority of Minnesota Statute 471.59 in
order to create the West Hennepin Recycling Commission for the purpose of establishing,
administering, and operating a curbside recycling program in each of the member Cities; and
WHEREAS, the West Hennepin Recycling Commission has recommended extension of
the Joint Powers Agreement as revised in October, 1995 through 2002;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the city council of the city of Medina,
Minnesota, that the Joint Powers Agreement of the West Hennepin Recycling Commission be
approved and extended through December 31, 2002.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Zietlow and
upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
Ferris, Johnson, Smith, and Zietlow
and the following voted against same: None Absent: Hamilton
Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
