SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Due to increasing costs of maintaining the golf course, the Golf Advisory Committee and Staff recommend
that City Council raise golf rates. The 2009 rates remained the same as the 2008 rates. In order to maintain
the quality of the course that our golfers have come to expect we will need to increase fees. The increase
was based on 5% then rounded up to the next whole dollar. The proposed rates are still below the rates of
the other courses in the area. If the rounds played are equal to the rounds played in 2009, the revenue from
the increased rates will generate approximately $50,000 additional revenue.
Attached are the rates for 2008-2009 and the proposed rates for 2010.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
1. Conduct the Public Hearing on raising Golf Rates.
2. Adopt Resolution 10-5 establishing a golf rate increase and authorize the mayor to sign all necessary
documents.
