SUMMARY STATEMENT:
McPaws and Alpine Village are requesting permission to hang a highway banner to advertise the event
which takes place on October 2nd, 2010. It will be held at the Alpine Village. They have requested to hang
the banner from September 21 through October 3, 2010.
The Public Works Department is trying to set certain days of the week for hanging and removing the
banners, and as such would like to hang the banner on September 20 and removing it on October 3, 2010. If
we receive an increase in banner hanging requests we may need to shorten the hanging times.
McCall City Code Reads:
3.9.04: TEMPORARY SIGNS: The following signs shall be permitted anywhere within the planning
jurisdiction and shall not require a permit:
(D) Street Banner Signs: Street banner signs advertising a public entertainment or event, if ,after the
submittal and approval by the council of an application, and only for locations designated by the
administrator, during and for fourteen(14) days before and seven (7) days after the event.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve request to hang Highway Banner for McPaws/Octoberfest.
