A regular meeting of the Board of Assessors was held on September 15, Tcm~\~QFlitlJE
floor conference room at the Town Hall. A Notice of Meeting was duly posted.
The meeting commenced at 5:35 p.m. In attendance were John Duffy, Edward Mills and
John Palmer, all the members of the Board. John Duffy presided and John Palmer kept
the minutes. Also in attendance were Robert Bushway, Principal Assessor and Steven
McCarthy, Deputy Assessor..
The minutes ofthe regular meeting of September 1,2009 were approved.
The Board reviewed, approved and signed a Bills Payable Warrant in the amount of
$640.07, ofwhich $600.00 was attributable to revaluation matters.
The Board reviewed, approved and signed the monthly report of abatements and
exemptions for August 2009
The Board reviewed and signed warrants and commitments for Title V septic system
betterments for the properties located at 34 Proctor St. ($26,650) and 221 Wood St.
($24,055).
The Board unanimously voted to approve a settlement negotiated with Deerfield Estates
Condominiums relating to 14 parcels for which petitions to the Appellate Tax Board had
been filed contesting the assessed values for FY 2009. The settlement would completely
resolve the claims.
Mr. Bushway reported that all the information requested by the Department of Revenue
for the preliminary approval ofFY 2010 assessed values has been submitted.
Chairman Duffy reported on the meeting he had with the Board of Selectman on
September 10 regarding the FY 2009 tax burden.
The next meeting was scheduled for October 6,2009 at 5:30 p.m. The meeting adjourned
at 6:25 p.m.
