Hause, Administrative Services Director SUBJECT: ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. 16-5174 ADOPTING REVISED SALARY RANGES FOR UNREPRESENTED PART~IME CLASSIFICATIONS FOR FISCAL YEAR (FY) 2016-17 RECOMMENDATION: The City Council is requested to adopt Resolution No. 16-5174 (Attachment "A"), adopting salary ranges for unrepresented part-time classifications for FY 2016-17. BACKGROUND: Between July 23, 2015 and April 20, 2016, the City met on numerous occasions with Temple City Employees Association (TCEA) to further discuss compensation philosophy and possible terms of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for July 1, 2016 through June 30 , 2018. ANALYSIS : Historically the City Council has set hourly rates for employees in part-time classifications that were comparable to salaries for employee in full time classifications. Salary adjustments for FY's 2016-17 and FY 2017-18 for full time employees represented by TCEA are also being considered. It is recommended the City Council consider similar salary adjustments for all employees in unrepresented part-time classification. CITY STRATEGIC GOALS: Adoption of Resolution No. 16-517 4 will promote or further the City's Strategic Goal of Good Governance. City Council June 7, 2016 Page 2 of 2 FISCAL IMPACT: The proposed FY 2016-17 City Budget includes sufficient resources for the recommended adjustments. ATTACHMENT: A. Resolution No. 16-5174 ATTACHMENT A RESOLUTION NO. 16-5174 A RESOLUTI ON OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY, CALI FORNIA ADJUSTING SALARIES FOR UNREPRESENTED PART-TIME CLASSIFICATIONS. WHEREAS, on June 16, 2016, the City Council adopted the Fiscal Year (FY) 201t>-16 City Budget which included funding for a salary adjustment for unrepresented classifications. NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The City Council hereby approves salary ranges for unrepresented part-time classifications (Exhibit "1") implementing salary adjustment for unrepresented part-time classifications, effective with the pay period ending July 8, 2016; and SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED on this 7th day of June, 2016.
