TO: The Honorable City Council

By: Tracey L. Hause, Administrative Services Director
SUBJECT: ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. 16-5174 ADOPTING REVISED
SALARY RANGES FOR UNREPRESENTED PART~IME
CLASSIFICATIONS FOR FISCAL YEAR (FY) 2016-17
RECOMMENDATION:
The City Council is requested to adopt Resolution No. 16-5174 (Attachment "A"), adopting
salary ranges for unrepresented part-time classifications for FY 2016-17.
BACKGROUND:
Between July 23, 2015 and April 20, 2016, the City met on numerous occasions with
Temple City Employees Association (TCEA) to further discuss compensation philosophy
and possible terms of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for July 1, 2016 through
June 30 , 2018.
ANALYSIS :
Historically the City Council has set hourly rates for employees in part-time classifications
that were comparable to salaries for employee in full time classifications. Salary
adjustments for FY's 2016-17 and FY 2017-18 for full time employees represented by
TCEA are also being considered. It is recommended the City Council consider similar
salary adjustments for all employees in unrepresented part-time classification.
CITY STRATEGIC GOALS:
Adoption of Resolution No. 16-517 4 will promote or further the City's Strategic Goal of
Good Governance.
