SUBJECT: PLANNING COMMISSION ACTIONS -MEETING OF JULY 28, 2015
RECOMMENDATION:
The City Council is requested to receive and file the Planning Commission
(Commiss ion ) actions from their meeting of July 28 , 2015 .
BACKGROUND:
On July 28 , 2015 , the Commission held their regularly scheduled meeting .
ANALYSIS:
The following is a summary of actions taken at the July 28 , 2015 meeting :
1. ROLL CALL :

The Commission approved the minutes from their regular meeting of July 14 ,

3. PUBLIC HEARING
A. A REQUEST FOR A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO ALLOW GAS
HOOKUPS AND PLUMBING IN A DETACHED ACCESSORY STRUCTURE
LOCATED AT 9518 OLIVE STREET
The Commission approved a conditiona l use permit to allow gas hookups
and plumbing to include a bathroom and shower in a detached accessory
structure located at 9518 Olive Street. The site has approximate ly 82 feet of
width and 197 feet of depth , with an overall net lot size of approxim ately
15 ,749 square feet. The property consists of a ma i n house, guesthouse
(under construction ), detached ac cesso ry structure (under construction), and
a swimming pool. The City 's Zoning Code requires approval of a conditional
use permit for detached accessory structures not used for living purposes
that have gas hookups or plumbing . The site is zoned R-1 , Sing le Fam il y
Residential , and is designated as Low Density Residential by the General
Plan.
B. A REQUEST FOR A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO ESTABLISH A FULL
SERVICE RESTAURANT WITH BEER AND WINE SERVICE IN THE
CAMELLIA SQUARE SHOPPING CE NTER AT 5700 ROSEMEAD
BOULEVARD , UNIT 100
The Commiss ion approved a conditional use permit for a restaurant that
serves beer and wine located at 5700 Rosemead Boulevard , unit 100. The
subject site has a land area of 3.7 acres and is located at the northeast
corner of Rosemead Boulevard and Las Tuna s Drive . The appl icant will
occupy approximately 5,320 square feet of building area in Building four
along Las Tunas Drive , operate from 11 :30 a .m . to 2 :00 a .m . seven days a
week , and has a seating capacity of 165 people . The property is located in
the C-2 , General Commercial zone and is designated as Commercial by the
City 's General Plan .
