RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CIRCULATION OF PETITIO:IS
REQUESTING THE ANNEXATION OF ATLANTIC AVENUE

WI-IERBAS, the planning Commission of' the City of Lynwood i
did, on the 14th day of July, 1g64, submit its report to the City
Council concerning the anneaation of the unincorporated territory
bounded generally by Thorson Avenue, Fernwood Avenue,.Long Beach
Freeway and McMillan Straet to the City of L,ynwood, and
WI-LdREAS, on the 21st day of July 1g64 th2 City Council
of the City of Lynwood adopted Resolution No 64-56 consenting

to the commencement of annexation proceedings to annex said
territory, and
WHEREAS, the Boundary Co:nmission of the County of Los
Angeles did on the 7th day of October, 1g64 approve the proposed
boundaries o£ said area as to definiteness and certainty, and
. WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Co:nmission of the
County of Loa Angeles did on the 25th day o£ Novem'aer, 1g54
approved the proposal for such annexation, and
WI�RE}1S, on the 18th 'day of December 1964 there was filed
with the City Clerlc of the City of Lynwood an affidavit of publication
that said notice of intention to circulate petitions relating to
the annexation of said territory to the City of Lynwood was published
in the L,ynwood Press on the 3rd day of December, Z964 and
WHEREAS, on the 3rd day of December, 1964 there was filed
with the City Clerk of the City of Lynwood an affidavit of publication
that said notice of intention to circulate petitions relating to the
annexation of said territory to the City of Lynwood was published in
the Her,ald-American on the 3rd day of December, 1g64.
NOW, THEREr^ORE, BE IT RESOLVED that receipt of the affidavits
of publication is hereby acknowledged and approval is her�by given
fory��e cireulation of petitions for the annexation of said territory

as hereinafter described.
�i�at said territory is hereby designated as "ATLANTIC
AVENUE ANNEXATION N0. 6" and is described as followe:
Beginning at the northeasterly corner of Lot 6 of Tract
No. 5709 as per map recorded in Book 55, page 23 of Maps, Records
of Los Angeles County, California, said point of Ueginnin� being �I
on the City of Lynwood boundary line as said boundary line existed
September 30, 1g64 thenee easterly alon� said boundary line and foll
following the sam�= in all its various courses to an angle point in
the City of Paramount boundary line as said last mentioned boundary
line existed on September j0 Zg64; thence, southerly along said
last mentioned boundary line following the same in all its various
courses to the southerly line of Summerdale Street, 60 fe�t wide,
as shown on map of Tract No. 11858 as per map recorflefl in Book
220, pages 43 and 44 of Maps, Records of Loa Angeles County,
California; thence west�rly alon� said southerly line and following
the same in all its various courses and curves to the most southerly
line of McMillan Street �s shown on map o£ said Tract No. 11858
thenee, westerly along said most southerly line to the City of
Compton 3oundary lin�, as said last mentioned boundary line �xisted
September 30 1964s thence, northerly along said last mentioned
boundary line and following the same in all its various courses
to the City of Lynwood boundary line, as said last mentioned
boundar� line existed September j0 1g64� thence, easterly along
said last mentioned boundary line follo�ing the same in all its
various courses to the point of beginning.
That proceedings for the annexation of said terriroty shall
be in acco'rdance with "The Annexation Aet of 1913", as amendad.
APPROVED and ADOPTED this 5th. a,y of January 1965.
