RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CIRCULATION OF Pr.TITIONS
RE�,UESTING THE ANNEXATION OF DUNCAN AVENUE ANNEXA-
TION N0. 1 TO T'dE CITY OF LYNWOOD. `
� WI�REAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Lynwood
did, on the 17th day of November, 1964 file its report with the City
Council concer.ning the annexation of the unincorporated territory
_ generall� desc,ribed as that which is bounded by Wright Road on the .
East, first alley west of Duncan Avenue on the West, the first alley
south of Tmperial Highwa,y on the North and Los Flores to Duncan,
Elmwood to Wright Road on the South to t'ne City of Lynwood, and
WHEREAS, on the 17th day o£ November, 1964, the City
Council of the City.of Lynwood adopted Resolution No. 64-83 consenting
to the commeneement of annexation proceedings to annex said territory,
and
WHEREAS, the Bou�,zdary Commission of the Count�r o£ Los
• Angeles did on the 4th daf of iVove:nber, 1964, approve the proposed
I boundaries of said area'as to definit2ness and certainty, and
WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission of the
Countf of Los Angeles did on the 2jrd day of December 1954
approved the proposal for such annexation, and
, WF�REAS, on the 7th day of JanuarJ, Zg65 there was filed
with the City Clerk of the Cit;T of Lynwood an affidavit oF publication
that said notice of intention to circulate petitions relating to
the annexation of said territory to the City of Lynwood was published
in the Lynwood Press on the 7th day of January, 1955, and
NOW, THEREFORE, B�, IT RESOLVED that receipt of the affidavits
of publication is hereby acknowledged and approval is herebJ given .
for the circulation of petitions for the annexation of said territory
as hereinafter deseribed.
That said territory is hereby designated as "DUNCAN AVENUE
ANNE.XATION N0. 1" and is described as follows:

; Beginning at the intersection of an easterly line of the
City of Lynwood Boundary as said boundary existed October 5 1g64
, and the westerly prolongation of the nort'aerly line of the southerly
30 feet of Lot 185, Tract No. 7984, as per maps recorded in Book 90,
pages 34, 35 and 36 of Maps, Records o£ Los Angeles Coun•t�r, California;
thence easterly along said prolongation, said northerly line and the
easterly prolongation ther2of to the center line of Virginia Avenue
50 feet wzde as shown on said m�p; thenee northerly along said
center line and the northerly prolongation thereof to the ceriter
line of Los Flores Boulevard 50 feet wide as shown on said map;
thence easterly along said last m�ntioned center line to the northerly
pralongation of the'center line of the first alle;� east of Pope
Avenue as shown on said map, said alley being 15 feet wide as
shown on said map; thence southerl�r along said last mentioned
' prolongation and center line to the center line of Elmwood Avenue
50 £eet wide as shown on said map; thence easterly along said last
m�ntioned center line and the easterly prolongation thereof to a
westerly line oi �he City of L;�nwood Boundary as said boundarJ
. existed October 5 1g64 thence northerly along said Uoundarv and
followi'ng the same in all its various courses to the point of beginnin�.
That pro:^eedings for �he annexation of said territorp shall
be in accordance with "The Annexation Act of 1g13", as amended. I I
APPROVED and ADOPTED this 19th day of JanuarJ, 1965.
