SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The City of McCall is designated as a Certified Local Government by the Idaho State Historic Preservation
Office. Each year, the City is eligible to apply for and receive funding for projects that help further its
historic preservation efforts. On August 31, 2010, the McCall Historic Preservation Commission met and
approved the submission of a CLG grant for 2011 which would involve hiring a historic preservation
consultant to help the Commission develop a historic preservation plan for the City. This plan would expand
on the "windshield survey" of historic properties which was done in 2005, and would include: 1)
identification of potential historic districts, 2) identification of eligible properties, and 3) update the city
code in regards to historic preservation.
City matching funds would include a cash match from the Historic Preservation Support line in the FY11
Community Development budget, and a "soft match" of the Grant Coordinator's time and the Historic
Preservation Commission members' time.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve submission of a Certified Local Government grant application for
a historic preservation plan and authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary documents.
