SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Public Works has prepared a presentation for discussion with City Council concerning the outdated
municipal codes such as Title 6, Utility Services; Drainage Management Guidelines and Engineering
Specifications. Most of these codes, regulations and engineering specifications are either outdated and/or
conflict with each other. This has led to situations where sub -standard construction of City infrastructure
has occurred. Additionally it is difficult to enforce work to current standards based on old and outdated
code, regulations and specifications. Lastly, as these codes, regulations and specifications are revised they
may impact other codes and regulations such as Title 2 (Building Regulations) and Title 9 (Subdivision and
Development).
