SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The McCall Urban Renewal Agency (MURA) is currently in the progress of constructing the 2010
Improvement Projects within the District. In developing the plan, it was discovered that most of the parking
lot for Mountain Monkey Business and Mountain Java is located within the right of way. City staff, the
MURA chair, and the design engineers worked extensively with the property owner, Nancy Boyd, and
business owners.
The goal is to make the area more pedestrian friendly which requires the sidewalk to be in front of the
parking so vehicles will not back over the sidewalk. This design routes pedestrian traffic in front of the
businesses and does not compromise safety but requires the sidewalk to be located partially on private
property. Therefore, an easement from Nancy Boyd is required for the sidewalk.
The City Attorney has reviewed and approved the easement agreement that grants use of the property for a
public sidewalk.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve the sidewalk easement between Nancy Boyd and the City of McCall and authorize the Mayor to
sign all necessary documents.
