RESOLUTION NO. 15-9123
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA DIRECTING THE CITY
MANAGER TO CONDUCT A STUDY ON THE
FEASIBILITY OF REOPENING THE FLEET DIVISION OF
THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF
OPA-LOCKA AND REINSTATEMENT OF THE
EMPLOYEES WHO WORKED THEREIN; DETAILING
ASSOCIATED COSTS AND TIMETABLE; PROVIDING
FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, The City Commission of the City of Opa-Locka, Florida, desires
to convene a study to review the feasibility of reopening the Fleet Division of the
Public Works Department of the City of Opa-Locka; and
WHEREAS, The City Commission believes that it is in the best interest of the
City of Opa-Locka to conduct such a study to determine the overall benefit to the
City of reopening the Fleet Division of the Public Works Department and reinstating
the employees who worked therein.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference;
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-Locka, Florida hereby
authorizes the City Manager to conduct a study on reopening of the Public Works
Department and reinstatement of terminated department employees and provide a
report detailing the associated costs and timetable related thereto.
Section 3. The report from the study is to be presented at the January 13,
2016 City of Opa-locka Commission Meeting.
Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
