Home My Public Portal About65-021 (03-16-65) .. � ��2 � RESOLUTION N0. 65-21 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD GIVING NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF THAT CERTAIN PROPERTY IN THE UNINCORPORATED TERRITORY OF THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES LYING NORTHERLY OF THE EXISTING CITY BOUNDARY ON EL GRANADA AVENUE (EL GRANADA AVENUE .ANNEXATION N0, l.). WHEREAS, pursuant to the "Annexation of Uninhabited Terri- tory Act of 193," as amended, there has been presented to the City Council of the City of Lynwood, California, a petition dated December 16 1g64 executed by Marion W. Madden et al, reque�ting the annexation of certain property lying northerly o£ the existing city boundary on El Granada Avenue in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, and lying within the following described boundaries: Beginning at the intersection of the City of Lynwood boundary, said boundary existing December 11 1964 and the easterly line of Tract No. 5818 as shown on map recorded in Book 140, Page 43 of Maps, in the office of the recorder of the County of Los Angeles; thence northerly along said easterly line to the intersection of the westerly prolon- gation of the northerly line of Lot 11, Tract No. 10614 as shown on map recorded in Book 211, Pages 38 and j9 of maps, in the office of the recorder o£ the County of Los Angeles; thence easterly al,ong said westerly prolon- � � - .__ . _ .. . ... '.. gation, northerly line and the easterly prolongation of said northerly line to the centerline of El Granada Avenue, 60 feet wide, as shown on said last mentioned map; thence northerly along said centerline to the inter- � section with the westerly prolongation of the northerly -1- � line of Lot 15 of said last mentioned tract; thence easterly along said last mentioned westerly prolongation and northerly line to the easterly line of Lot 15 of said last mentioned tract; thence southerly along said last mentioned easterly line and its southerly prolongation to the City of Lynwood boundary, said boundary existing December 11 1g64 thence westerly along said boundary to the point of beginning. WHEREAS, said territory is uninhabited, unincorporated territory contiguous to the City of Lynwood, and WHE&EAS, said petition is signed by the owners of not less than one-£ourth of the area o£ land in such territory and representing not lees than one-fourth of the as9essed value of such territo�y according to the last preceding equalized assessment roll of the County of Los Angeles, State of California, in which territory is situated, � NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: Section l. That pursuant to the."Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1g3g as amended, the City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby gives notice of said proposed annexation. Section 2. Said territory is hereby designated for identi- £ication as "E1 Granada Avenue Annexation No. 1." Section j. Said City Council hereby gives notice of and fixes bhe .4th day of _t.May;, 1965 at the hour of 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers in the City Hall, 113j0 Bullis Road, Lynwood, California, as the day, hour and place when and where any person owning real pro- perty within such territory so proposed to be annexed and having any objections to the proposed annexation may appear before the City Council of said City of Lynwood and show cause why such territory should not be so annexed. Section 4. The City Clerk is hereby directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be published once a week for two (2) successive weeks prior to said hearing, in the Lynwood Press, a news- paper o£ general circulation, printed and published in said City of Lynwood, and also in the Herald American, a newspaper of general circulation published outside of the City of Lynwood but in the County -2- in wh:Cch is located the territory proposed to be annexed. Section 5 . The City Clerk is hereby flirected to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each person to whom land within the territory proposed to be annexed is assessed in the last equalized county assessment roll at the address shown on said assessment roll, or as known to said Clerk, and to any person ' who has filed his name and address and the designation of the lands in which he has any interest with said Clerk.
