AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, VACATING AND
DISCONTINUING A PORTION OF WALL WAY.
WHEREAS, Cole County has requested vacation of parts of Wall Way in order to
construct a new county jail; and
WHEREAS, it has further been shown that it would not inconvenience the public or
the citizens of the City to discontinue a portion of Wall Way for public use as described in
Section 1 of this Ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Council of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, hereby declares it
necessary, reasonable and proper to discontinue as a alley and forever vacate the
following described Wall Way in said City:
Part of the 20' Alley (East Wall Way)
All that part of a 20 foot wide public alley known as "East Wall Way" lying southerly
of and adjacent to the southerly line of Inlots 486 and 487 and lying north of and
adjacent to the northerly line of Inlots 530 and 531, in the City of Jefferson, Cole
County, Missouri, more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at the northeasterly corner of the aforesaid Inlot 531; thence
N47 038'35"W, along the northerly line of said Inlot 531 and along the northerly line
of the aforesaid Inlot 530, 208.75 feet to the northwesterly corner of said Inlot 530;
thence N42 007'52"E, on a direct line, 20.00 feet to the southwesterly corner of the
aforesaid Inlot 486;thence S47 038'35"E,along the southerly line said Inlot 486 and
along the southerly line of the aforesaid Inlot 487, 208.74 feet to the POINT OF
BEGINNING.
Containing 4,174.99 sq. ft.
Section 2. The statutory right of reversion in the owners of the abutting property
is hereby confirmed, as is provided by the laws of the State of Missouri, and the Mayor
and the Clerk of the City are hereby authorized to execute all necessary instruments
required to confirm the reversionary rights of the owners of property abutting on the
area vacated, as described in Section 1 of this ordinance, in Wall Way vacated.

• Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its
passage.
