SUMMARY STATEMENT:
In August 2010 Public Works made a presentation to City Council on pavement management. Subsequent
work and review of the pavement management data developed an initial Streets Capital Improvement
Plan. This plan was presented to and approved by City Council on November 18, 2010. The
reconstruction and widening of Wooley Avenue was the number two project on that plan.
The Valley Adams Planning Partnership Transportation Committee met in December 2010 to review area
projects and develop a priority list. The Wooley Avenue project was ranked 4th out of 5 projects and has
received the support of the committee.
Public Works has developed a cost estimate for the proposed project and is $1,019,000. This application
will require a resolution passed by the City Council indicating that matching funds of 7.34% ($74,795)
will be dedicated to the project if funding is awarded. The resolution is attached.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution 11-1 and approve the submission of a Surface Transportation Program -Rural funding
application to the Local Highway Technical Assistance Council, and authorize the Mayor the sign all
necessary documents.
