A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO CALL A
SPECIAL ELECTION IN CERTAIN INHABITED TERRI-
TORY CONTIGUOUS TO SAID CITY PROPOSED TO BE
ANNEXE.D THERETO, FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING
TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS RESIDING IN SAID TER-
RITORY THE QUESTION Wf�THER OR NOT SAID TERRI-
TORY SHALL BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF LYNWOOD,
AND FIXING A TIME AND PLACE WHEN AND WHERE ANY
PERSON OWNING REAL PROPERTY WII'HIN SUCH TERRI-
TORY MAY APPEAR BEFORE SAID CITY COUNCIL AND
SHOW CAUSE WHY SUCH TERRITORY SHOULD NOT BE
SO ANNEXED, (DUNCAN AVENUE ANNEY�lTION N0. 1)
' BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lynwood
as follows: .
Section l. It is the intention of the City Council of the
City of Lynwood to call a special election for the purpose of sub- i
mitting to the qualified electors residing in certain inhabited �
territory contiguous to said city the question whether or not sA��d �'
territory shall be annexed to the City of Lynwood.
Section 2. That said territory hereby is designated and
identified for such election purposes and for use upon the ballots
at such election as "Duncan Avenue Annexation No. 1", and is
described as follovas:
Beginning at the intersection of an easterly line of
the City of Lynwood Boundary as said boundary existed
October 5 ig64 and the westerly prolongation of the
northerly line of the southerly 30 feet of Lot 185,
, Tract No. 7984 as per maps recorded in Book g0, pages
34, j5, and 36 of Maps, Recorcls of Los Angeles County,
California; thence easterly along said prolongation,
said northerly line and the easterly prolongation
thereof to the center line o£ Virginia Avenue 50 £eet
wide as shown on said map; thence northerly along said
center line and the northerly prolongation thereof to
the center line of Los Flores Boulevard 50 feet wide
as shown on said map; Lhence easterly along said last
mentioned center line to the northerly prolongation.of

Avenue as shown on said map, said a31ey bein,�

line to the center line of Elmwood Avenue 50 feet

the same in al1 its various courses to the point of

Section j. Notice ie hereby �iven that the City Council
_ of t;he.City of Lynwood will conduct a public hearing on said proposed
annexation.on Tuesday, the 4th day of May., 1g65 at the hour of 7:30
p.m., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road,
Lynvaood, California. At any time not later than the hour set for
hearing objections to the election, any owner of property within
the territory may make a written protest against ihe annexation.
Such protest must be in writing and sha11 state the.name of the
ovaner of the property affected and the street address or other
description of the property sufficient to identify it on the last
, equalized assessment roll. If it is found that the protest is not
made by the owners of one=half of the value of the territory proposed
to be annexed, further proceedinds shall be taken in accordance with
, the law for holding of such special.annexation election.'
. Section 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
�, thia resolution and is hereby directed to cause a copy of sanie;�to be
publiahed once a week for the two weelts prior to said hearing in the
Lynwood Press, a newapaper of general circulation, published in the
City of Lynwood and circulated within the said, territory proposed
' to be,annexed.

resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of said
