AND DESIGNATING IT BY THE 1QAME OF " DUNCAN AVENUE ANNEXATION N0. l;" ESTABLISHING AN ELECTION PRECINCT AND POLLING PLACE IN SAID TERRITORY; APPOINTING, TH� OFFI- CERS OF ELECTION FOR SAID SPECIAL ELECTION, AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION OF NOTICE OF SUCH ELECTION. WH�REAS, by Resolution No. 65-z7 the City .Council of the City of Lynwood declared its intention to call a special election to be held in certain inhabited territory contiguous to said City proposed.to be annexed to the 'Ci.ty, for the pur.pose of submitting � to the qualified ele'ctors residing in said territory the �.uestiori whether. or not -the .territory shall be. annexed to the 'Ci.ty; and FTHEREAS, a copy of said reso'lution was published as re- quired by law; and WHEREAS, at a time not later than the hour set.by said resolution for hearing objections,to the proposed election, pro- tests were not made by the owners or by public and private owners equal to one-half of the, value of the .territory proposed'to be annexed; and WHEREAS, all proceedings have been had in accordance with said resolution and.the Annexation Act of,l9,13, reference thereto hereby being made,for further particulars; NOW, ,THEREFORE, the City Council of the City o£ Lynwood does resolve as £ollows: Section l.. A special election is hereby. called to be he.ld on the 13th day of July, 19.65, in the territory hereinafter described and proposed.to be annexed to the City of Lynwood, for the pur.pose of submitting to the qualified elec'tors residing in said terrii�ory the question whether or not such .territory shall be, annexed to, incorporated in, and made a part of said City, of „ Lynwood. , Said territory is described as follows: Beginning 'at the intersection of an easterly line � of the City. of Lynwood Boundary as said boundary exis.t'ed October'5, 1964, and the :westerly prolongation of the northerly line of the�southerly 30 feet of Lot 185, Trac� No. 7984,. as.per maps recorded in • Book 90; pages 34 .35 and 36 of Map.s,' Recor.ds 'of Los An�eles County,.California; thence easterly ' along said prolongation, said northerly.line and the east'erly prol'ongation thereof to the center , line of Virginia Av 50 feet wide as shown on ' ' said map; thence northerly along said center line ,e;s� and the northerly prolongation thereof to the center line of Los'Flores Boulevard 50,feet wide as shown on said.map; thence easterly along said last men- tioned center line to the northerly prolongation . of the 'center line of the,'first alley.east of Pope Avenue as shown on said map, said alley being 15 feet ' wide as shown on said map; thence southerly along said last mentioned prolongation and cent'er line to the center. line of Elmwood ;9venue 50 feet wide as shown on said map; thenee easterly.along said last mentioned center line and the easterly pro- longation thereof to 'a wesEerly line of the City ' of Lynwood Boundary as said boundary existed October �- 5, 1g64; thence northerly along said boundary and ' following the same in all its various courses to.the' point of beginning. The.polls.at shall be opened at � 7:00 o'clock a.m.. of the. day herein fixed for.the holding of said �lection and shall be ke.pt open unti1;7:00,'o'clock p.m. of the same day, when.the polls shall be closed. S"e'ctiori 3• Upon the ballots. to be used at said election there shall be printed the words: SHALL DUNCAN 'AVEIJU�, APdNEXATIOid N0. 1' BE ANNEXED TO .THE CITY. OF LYNWOOD? Opposite .those wo'rds there shall be printed the words "yes" and "no," and to the right of each of the,se last.t�..t:�ro words there shall be a voting square. If an elector shall stamp a cross (+.) in the voting square after the printed word "Yes" the .vote of such el'ector shall be counted in,favor of the annexation of said territory.to the .City- of Lynwoo'd; if an elector shall stamp a cross (+) in the voting square af.ter, the' printed word "No"'the vote of such elector shall be.counted against s.uch annexation. In all particulars not he'rein recited said election shall be held in con£ormity, as near as may be, with the laws of the State of California.eoncerning general elections and with said Annexation Act of 1913,. S'ection�4. (a) For the :purpose of holding said election , th'ere shall be and here is establishe'd, one election precinet designated as hereinafter stated. The polling place for said precinct shall be the place hereinaft:e� des'ignated and the person's hereinafter named, being compet'ent and qualified ele'ctors and residents of said territory and of said election precinet, are her.eby appointed officers of electiori and they shall hold said election and make return thereof in the manner provided by law.
