RESOLUTION NO. 16-9129
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, DIRECTING THE CITY
ATTORNEY TO EXPLORE LEGAL MEASURES AVAILABLE
TO THE RESIDENTS AND HOMEOWNERS OF VILLA
FRANCINE AGAINST THE DEVELOPERS AND
HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION OF VILLA FRANCINE,
EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY; PROVIDING FOR
INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Villa Francine is residential development in the City of Opa-
locka; and
WHEREAS, The residents and homeowners of Villa Francine have
experienced significant issues with construction of their homes believed to be caused
by the faulty construction of the foundation slab and potential Brownfield
contamination; and
WHEREAS, The City Commission believes that it is in the best interest of the
City to direct the City Attorney to explore and provide a report on the potential legal
remedies that may be available to the residents and homeowners of Villa Francine.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference;
Section 2. The City Attorney is hereby directed to explore legal measures that
the City can take on behalf of the residents and homeowners of Villa Francine
against the developers and homeowners association of Villa Francine, and
report back to the City Commission in ninety (90) days.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
