HomeMy Public PortalAbout2000-018 Resolution Authorizing Publication of Ordinance No. 316 By Title and Summary39 Member John Hamilton introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption CITY OF MEDINA RESOLTTION NO.00-18 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION OF ORDINANCE NO. 316 BY TITLE AND SUMMARY WHEREAS, the city council of the City of Medina has adopted Ordinance No. 316, an ordinance lifting the moratorium on development on the Elwell and Holasek properties in light of the adoption of the new residential P.U.D. ordinance; and WHEREAS, the interim ordinance is lengthy and contains maps; and WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes § 412.191, subd. 4, allows publication by title and summary in the case of lengthy ordinances or those containing charts or maps; and WHEREAS, the city council believes that the following summary would clearly inform the public of the intent and effect of the ordinance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the city council of the city of Medina that the city administrator -clerk -treasurer shall cause the following summary of Ordinance No. 316 to be published in the official newspaper in lieu of the entire ordinance: Public Notice The city council of the city of Medina has adopted Ordinance No. 316. The ordinance lifts the moratorium on development on the sites commonly known as the Elwell and Holasek properties. The moratorium is being lifted relative to these properties because the city has now completed the planning process regarding those sites by adopting a new residential P.U.D. ordinance. The Elwell property is intended to be developed as P.U.D. 1. The Holasek property is expected to be developed as P.U.D. 2. The effect of lifting the moratorium is that the city will be able to accept development applications regarding both properties. The full text of Ordinance No. 316 is available at Medina city hall during regular business hours. 00-18 05-16-00 40 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the city council of the city of Medina that the city administrator -clerk -treasurer keep a copy of the ordinance in his office at city hall for public inspection and that he post a full copy of the ordinance in a public place within the city.
