RESOLUTION NO. 16-9130
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA TO ACCEPT THE
VOLUNTARY RESTRICTIONS ON COMMISSIONER
TERENCE PINDER'S TRAVEL ALLOWANCE AND USE OF
HIS CITY CREDIT CARD; PROVIDING FOR
INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, The City of Opa-Locka is currently experiencing financial
challenges; and
WHEREAS, In light of these financial challenges, Commissioner Pinder
desires to contribute in any way that he can to the recovery of the City, including
voluntarily restricting his travel and credit card usage until December 31, 2016; and
WHEREAS, The City Commission believes that it is in the best interest of the
City of Opa-locka to accept the voluntary actions of Commissioner Pinder as
outlined above.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference;
Section 2. All of Commissioner Pinder's non-emergency travel and any
credit card utilization must be approved by the City Commission in advance.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.

Staff Summary:
In light of the City's financial challenges, Commissioner Pinder desires to contribute in any way that he can to the
recovery of the City, including voluntarily restricting his travel and credit card usage until December 31, 2016. The
proposed voluntary restrictions represents an annual savings of approximately$4,000.00 for fiscal year 2015-16.
Proposed Action:
Staff recommends approval in the interest of the City.
