HomeMy Public PortalAbout16-9131 Engage in Negotiating a Lower Monthly Payment Amount For Commissioner Terence Pinder City Vehicle Sponsored by: Commissioner Terence Pinder RESOLUTION NO. 16-9131 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA TO AUTHORIZE THE MANAGER TO ENGAGE IN NEGOTIATING A LOWER MONTHLY PAYMENT AMOUNT FOR COMMISSIONER TERENCE FINDER'S CITY-ASSIGNED VEHICLE, A 2015 CHEVY TAHOE, WHICH HAS A CURRENT MONTHLY PAYMENT AMOUNT OF SIX HUNDRED EIGHTY-TWO DOLLARS AND NINETY CENTS ($682.90); PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, The City of Opa-locka is currently experiencing financial challenges; and WHEREAS, In light of these financial challenges, Commissioner Pinder desires to contribute in any way that he can to the recovery of the City, including a request that the City Commission authorize the Manager to negotiate a lower monthly payment amount his City-assigned vehicle, a Chevy Tahoe, which is currently $682.90; and WHEREAS, The City Commission believes that it is in the best interest of the City of Opa-locka to authorize the City Manager to negotiate a lower payment amount for the use of the Chevy Tahoe that is assigned to Commissioner Pinder. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference. Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to engage in negotiations to lower the monthly payment amount for Commissioner Pinder's City-assigned vehicle, a 2015, Chevy Tahoe, and report back to the Commission about the outcome of said negotiations within thirty (30) days. Resolution No. 16-9131 Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 13th day of January, 2016. Myra L.
