SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The attached Ordinance for the Local Option Tax, if approved by voters, will renew the tax for an
additional 7 years. The rates of the new tax being considered are 3%, 4%, and 5% and will be determined
at the Council Meeting. The new ordinance also proposes a change in the makeup of the seven (7)
members the Local Option Tax Commission (LOT Commission). The proposal is that the LOT
Commission would be comprised of two (2) members of different City Advisory Committees, one senior
citizen representative, two (2) representatives from businesses in McCall, and two (2) at -large residents.
Attached are the following:
• Memo from staff to assist the Council with the pieces of the ordinance that needs to be finalized
for adoption
• Original ordinance with the changes marked in red
• The new ordinance
• A 3%, 4%, and 5% chart
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
1. Receive Public Comment
2. Review and finalize the Ordinance
3. Suspend the rules and read by title only, one time only Ordinance .
4. Adopt Ordinance renewing the Local Option Tax at approve the publication of the summary

and authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary documents.
