Santiago RESOLUTION NO. 16-9133 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, REQUIRING THE CITY CLERK TO RE-POLL CITY COMMISSIONERS AT LEAST FOUR (4) HOURS BEFORE A SCHEDULED SPECIAL MEETING IS HELD TO CONFIRM THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A QUORUM, EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Article II Section 2-44(a) of the City Charter requires the City Clerk to poll the members of the City Commission in order set a special call meeting of the City Commission; and WHEREAS, In accordance with the City Charter, it is necessary that a quorum be available and maintained for any special call meeting; and WHEREAS, The City Commission believes that it is in the best interest of the City to require the City Clerk to re-poll the City Commission at least four (4) hours prior to the scheduled date and time of any special meeting of the City Commission to ensure that the necessary quorum exists. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference; Section 2. The City Clerk is hereby required to re-poll the City Commission as least four (4) hours prior to the scheduled date and time of any special call meeting to ensure that a majority of the Commission will be in attendance for said meeting. Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption. Resolution No. 16-9133 PASSED AND ADOPTED this 13th day of January, 2016. yra .
