RESOLUTION N0. 65-42
RESOLUTION OF THE GZTY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD ADJOURNING THE 'J:UNE l, 1965 REGULAR
MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL TO BA'I`EMAN HALL,
COMMUNITY SERVICE BUILDING, 11j31 ERNESTINE
AVENUE, LYNWOOD, CALIFORNIA.
WHEREAS, at the public hearing �et by the City Council for
7:30 p.m. on June l, 1g65 on an appeal from a decision of the
Planning Commission of said city recommending to said Council that
a zone variance be denied, a large number of persons deairing to hear
and be heard has appeared a t said Council Chambers, and
WHEREAS, the space and facilities of said chambers is
insu£ficient to accommodate all of said persons, and
WI�REAS, the Chief of the City Fire Department and Deputy
State Fire Marshal have notified the City Council that th�ey cannot '
permit crowds to assemble in halls o£ the City Hall in such numbers,
and
WHEREAS, an emergency exists due to the number of persons,
attending said hearing, requiring the continuance of the hearing
outside the Council Chambers, and
WHEREAS, the City Council is authorized by Ordinance No. 766
to adjourn meetings of the City Council to some Blace outside the
Council Chambers of the City Hal1, and
WHEREAS, Bateman Ha11 in the Community Service Building, -
11j31 Ernestine Avenue, is convenient and of sufficient capacity to
accommodate the persons desiring to hear and be heard;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED,
� Section l. The City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby
order that sa�ing be adjourned and continued to said Bateman
Hall at q P'' on this date, June l, 1965 for the purpose of
conducting a pu ic hearing on the appeal filed by the applicant of the
Planning Commission decision to recommend to the Council, denying the
request of James S. Pelton and Wallace Von Medlin for variance to permit
construction of a department store, two commercial buildings, and park-
ing facilities for approximately 825 vehicles on a portion of Home
Tract in Rancho San Antonio.
Section 2. The City Clerk is hereby instructed to post a
copy of thls o der on the door of the Council Chambers, and to ,place an
employee of the City on duty in the Council Chambers to direct and
instruct any and all persons who come to the Council Chambers that
said meeting and hearing is bein� held in said Bateman Hall.
Section 3• The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolu z�`on. —
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this lst day of June 1g65.
