SUMMARY STATEMENT:
This project will primarily replace the asphalt in the intersection of Pine and Roosevelt Avenues in
conjunction with the improvements that Dr. Charles is required to complete as part of his development
agreement with the City.
Dr. Charles is primarily responsible for the construction of curb, gutter and sidewalk. The City will be
replacing the asphalt in the intersection, adding drainage infrastructure and a approach apron on the south
side of Pine Street.
Because the cost of this project was less than $50,000, informal bidding was conducted with three (3)
local contractors. John Brinkley was the lowest of those three.
Attached is the bid proposal, the contract with Brinkley Construction, LLC and a copy of the plan. Also
attached is a commitment letter from Dr. Charles and his contractor.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Award the contract for the Roosevelt/Pine Intersection Improvements to Brinkley Construction, LLC and
authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary documents.
