RESOLUTION N0. 65-73
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LXNW00D FAVORING PASSAGE OF THE LOWER COLORADO
RIVER BASIN PROJECT ACT
The City Council of the City of Lynwood does resolve
as follows: .
Section 1. WHEREAS, the introduction of legislation in
the United States Congress entitled the "Lower Colorado River
Basin Project Act" will'_bring about an end to nearly half a
century of controversy between Arizona and California over the
Colorado River,
Section 2. WHE said legislation has the over-
whelming support o£ Congressional delegations from both California
and Arizona.
Section 3• WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Watex District of
Southern California has vigorously supported this far-sighted
legislation in the interest not only of Southern Cali£ornia but
of the entire Pacific Southwest, �
Section 4. NOW,, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City
Council of the City of Lynwood strongly urges passage of the
Lower Colorado River Basin Project Act.
Section 5, The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution and forward certified copies thereof to Senator
George Murphy, Senator Thomas H. Kuchel, Representatives Del
_` Clawson and Augustus Hawkins and Chairinan of the Metropolitan
Water District.
