SUMMARY STATEMENT:
McCall has been recognized as a Tree City USA by the National Arbor Day Foundation for ten years. To
be re -certified, McCall is required to demonstrate that it complies with the standards for certification,
which include: 1) having a tree board or department; 2) having an annual tree budget of at least $2 per
capita; 3) having a tree ordinance; and, 4) an Arbor Day observance and proclamation. McCall complied
with all four standards in 2011. In addition, McCall participated in other activities which qualify it for a
Growth Award, which is awarded to communities that go above and beyond the basic standards. McCall
qualifies for a growth award.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve submission of the 2011 Tree City USA Re -Certification and Growth Award Applications, and
authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary documents.
