RESOLUTION NO. 16-9147
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, DIRECTING THE CITY
ATTORNEY TO CONDUCT RESEARCH TO DETERMINE
THE OWNERSHIP HISTORY OF THE OPA-LOCKA
AIRPORT, AND IF EVER RIGHTLY OWNED BY THE
CITY, DETERMINE WHETHER THE AIRPORT WAS
PROPERLY TRANSFERRED FROM CITY OWNERSHIP;
PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, The City Commission believes that the Opa-Locka Airport was
once owned by the City; and
WHEREAS, The City is desirous of determining the extent of the City's
ownership interest in the Opa-locka Airport; and
WHEREAS, The City finds that it is in its best interest to determine the
ownership history of the Opa-locka Airport; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF OPA LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Section 2. The City Commission hereby directs the City Attorney to research
and determine the ownership history of the Opa-locka Airport, and if ever
properly owned by the City, was it properly transferred, and to bring back a
report of its efforts within ninety (90) days of this resolution.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 27th day of January, 2016.
