RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF Ti-IE CITY OF
LYNWOOD GIVING NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION
OF THAT CERTAIN PROPERTY IN THE UNINCORPORA'I`ED
TERRITORY OF THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES LYING
ON THE WEST SIDE OF VIRGINI;44 AVENUE BETWEEN
CORTLAND AVENUE AND WALNUT AVENUE (ATLANTIC
AVENUE ANNEXATION N0. 5.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the "Annexation of Uninhabited Terri-
tory Act of lg3g as amended, there has been presented to the City
Council of the City of Lynwood, California, a petition dated May 7,
1g64 executed by George Kanamoto, requesting the annexation of
certain property lying on the west side of Virginia Avenue between
Cortland Avenue and Walnut Avenue, in the County o£ Los Angeles,
State of California, and lying within the following described
boundaries:
Beginning at a point of intersection of the Lynwood
City boundary, as said boundary existed this 17th d.ay
of January 1g64 with the westerly•prolongation of
the southerly line of Cortland Avenue, 30 feet wide,
as shown on map of Tract No 6728 recorded in Book
125, pages 19 and 20 of Maps, in the office of the
Recorder of Los Angeles County, State of California; I �
thence, easterly along said prolongation to the inter- I
section of the westerly line of Virginia Avenue, 24.1
£eet wide, as shown on map of said Tract No 6728
thence northerly and westerly along the boundary of
said Tract No 6728 to the intersection of the center-
line of Virginia Avenue, 60 feet wide as shown on map
of said Tract No 6728 thence, northerly along said
centerline to the intersection of the easterly pro-
longation of the northerly line of Lot 54 of said. Tract

No 6728 thence, westerly along said easterly pro-
longation and northerly line and its westerly pro-
longation to the inter6ection of the Lynwood City
boundary as said boundary existed this 17th day of
January Zg64 thence, southerly along said boundary
to �he point of be�inning,
WHEREAS, said territory is uninhabited, unincorporated
territory contiguous to the City of L,ynwood, and
WI�REAS, said petition is signed by the owners of not less
than one-fourth of the area of land in such territory and representing
not less than one-fourth of the assessed value of such territory
according to the last preceding equalized assessment roll o£ the
County of Los Angeles, State of California, in which territory is
situated,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
Section l , That pursuant to the "Annexation of Uninhabited
Territory Act of ig39 as amended, the City Council of the City of
Lynwood hereby gives notice of said proposed annexation.
Section 2, Said territory is hereby designated £or identi-
fication as "Atlantic Avenue Annexation No. 5." �

Section 3, Said City Council hereby gives notice of and I
fixes the 7th day of July 1g64 at the hour of 7:30 p,m, in the
Council Chambers in the City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road L nwood

California, as the day, hour, and place when and where any person
owning real property within such territory so proposed to be annexed
and having any objections to the proposed annexation may appear
before the City Council of said City of Lynwood and show cause why
such territory should not be so annexed.
Section 4, The City Clerk is hereby directed to cause a
copy of this resolution to be published once a week for two (2)
successive weeks prior to said hearing, in the I,ynwood Press, a news-
paper of general circulation, printed and published in said C3ty of
Lynwood, and also in the Herald American, a newspaper of general cir-

culation published outside of the City of Lynwood but in the county
in which is located the territory proposed to be annexed,
Section 5 , The City Clerk is hereby directed to cause
written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each
person to whom land within the territory proposed to be annexed is
assessed in the last equalized county assessm�nt roll at the address
shown on said assessment roll, or as known to said Clerk, and to any
person who has filed his name and address and the designation of the
lands in which he has any interest with said Clerk.
Section 6, The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution.
