Member Smith introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
CITY OF MEDINA
RESOLUTION NO.00-43
RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
AND ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR HOLY
NAME DRIVE/LAKEVIEW ROAD SANITARY SEWER
IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
WHEREAS, pursuant to a resolution adopted by the city council on June 20, 2000, the city
engineer has prepared plans and specification for the extension of sanitary sewer from near the
intersection of County Road 24 and Holy Name Drive northwest along Holy Name Drive and west
along Lakeview road to serve up to 19 residential lots and has presented such plans and
specifications to the city council for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the city council of the city of Medina,
Minnesota, as follows:
1. The plans and specifications, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part
hereof, are hereby approved.
2. The administrator -clerk -treasurer is authorized and directed to prepare and cause to
be printed in the official newspaper an advertisement for bids upon the making of such
improvement under the approved plans and specifications. The advertisement shall be published in
accordance with law and shall specify the work to be done, shall state that bids will be received by
the administrator -clerk -treasurer until 10:00 a.m. on October 3, 2000, at which time they will be
publicly opened in the council chambers at city hall by the administrator -clerk -treasurer and
consulting engineering, will then be tabulated and will be considered by the city council at its
meeting of October 3, 2000. Any bidder whose responsibility is questioned during consideration of
the bid will be given an opportunity to address the council on the issue of responsibility. No bids
will be considered unless sealed and filed with the administrator -clerk -treasurer and accompanied
by a cash deposit, bid bond or a certified check payable to the city for 5 percent of the amount of
such bid.
3. The resolution previously adopted on July 18, 2000 assessing the benefited
properties for the improvement project is hereby modified to say that interest shall not begin to
accrue until the completion of the project, estimated to be in spring 2001, and that the prepayment
date for the special assessments is extended until November 1, 2001.

The motion for the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Zietlow and upon vote
being taken thereon, the following members voted in favor thereof:
Ferris, Johnson, Lane, Smith, and Zietlow
and the following members voted against same: None
Whereupon said resolution was declared duly adopted.
