RESOLUTION NO. 16-9155
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, DIRECTING THE CITY
MANAGER TO DEVELOP A COMPREHENSIVE PLAN OF
PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE FOR ALL VEHICLES
LEASED OR OWNED BY THE CITY; PROVIDING FOR
INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, The City is acquiring thirty (30) new police vehicles and operates
several other vehicles that are either owned or leased by the City; and
WHEREAS, Failure to properly maintain and operate the City's vehicles has
led to the need for expensive repairs and premature replacements thereof; and
WHEREAS, The City is in need of a comprehensive preventative
maintenance fleet management program to ensure that the vehicles are properly
maintained to prevent costly repairs and loss of service due to neglect and misuse.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference;
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby directed to develop a comprehensive
preventative maintenance fleet management program to ensure that all
vehicles that are owned or leased by the City are properly maintained to
prevent costly repairs and loss of service of the vehicles.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.

RESOLUTION NO. 16-9154
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISISON OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA,
FLORIDA, DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO REQUIRE THE POLICE
DEPARTMENT TO CONTACT FAMILIES OF HOMICIDE VICTIMS AT LEAST
ONCE EVERY SIXTY (60) DAYS AND PROVIDE THEM WITH A PROGRESS
REPORT OF THE INVESTIGATION UNTIL THE CASE IS CONCLUDED;
PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, The City Commission of the City Opa-locka, Florida, finds that
there is need to keep the families of homicide victim's informed of the progress of
the investigation concerning their loved ones; and
WHEREAS, The City Commission finds that it is in the best interest of the
City to maintain open communication with the families of homicide victims to
continue to facilitate open communication between the police department and the
public at large.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference;
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby directed to require the police
department to make contact with the families of homicide victims at least once every
sixty (60) days and to provide them with a progress of the investigation until the
case is concluded.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
