RESOLUTION TTO 64
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD, CALIFORNIA, CONFIRMING THE REPORT
OF THE SUPERINTENDENT OF STREETS OF SAID CITY
DATED JUSdE 16, 1964, RELATING TO CERTAIN SIDE-
WALK REPAIRS.
WHEREAS, under the provisions of Article 2, Chapter 22,
Part 3 of Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State
of California (Improvement Act of 1911), The Superintendent of
Streets of the City of Lgnwood d d duly and regularly notify the
respectiVe owners,or persons in possession of the respective
properties described in the report of said Street Superintendent,
hereinafter referred to, that the sidewalk or drive approach in
front of such respective properties was out of repair and notifying
such owners or persons in poesession to repair the same, all in
the manner as contemplated,in said law above referred to; and
WHEREAS, therea£ter said owners or persons in possession
of said respective properties failed to make such repairs within
the time contemplated by law or at all; and
WfIEREAS, thereafter the said Superintendent of Streets
� did cause the respective repairs to be made to the s3dewalk in
front of sueh respective groperties and did keep a record of the
cost of such repairs, including the incidental expenses thereof,
and did prepare and file with the said City Couneil a report
specifying the repairs which had been so macle, the cost of such
repairs, and a description of each parcel of real'property in
front of which such repairs had been made and the assessment
against each lot or parcel of'land proposed to be levied to pay
the cost thereof; and
WHEREAS, as contemplated by law, said Superintendent of
Streets did cause notice of the said cost of such repairs to be
ma'iled to the respective owners or persons in possession of said
respective properties, and did in such notices giVe further notice
that on the 16th day of June Zg64 beginning at the hour of 7:30
o'clock p.m, in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of the City
of Lynwood, California, the Council of the said city would hear
and pass upon the said report of the Superintendent o£ Streets of
the said cost of auch repairs, together with any objections or
protesta which might be raised by any property owner liable to be
assessed for the cost and incidental expenses of making such
repairs, and the objections or protests of any other interested
persons; and
WHEREAS, on the said 16th day of June, 1g64 said City
Council did proceed to hold said hearing and did duly and regularly
conduct the same all as contemplated by law; and
WKEREAS, no protests or ob�ections of any kind were ma,de,
presented, or filed in sueh matter;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD,
CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, FIND, DETERMINE, AND
ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section l. That the facts with reference to said matter
as recited in the preamble to this resolution are true.
Section 2. That said City Council does hereby confirm
the report of said Street Superintendent which is on file in the
office of the City Clerk of said City and open to public inspection,
and which is referred to and incorporated by reference herein.
Section 3. That the said Council does hereby assess the
respective costs of said repairs against the respective parcels of
� real property fronting upon the sidewalk upon which such respective
repairs were made, all in the respective amounts, for the respective
purposes and against the respective properties as set forth and
indicated in said report of said Superintendent of Streets on file
as aforesaid and does hereby��order that unle�s the said respective
amounts so assessed are respectively paid within the time limited

by law, the said respective amounts sha11 constitue and be and
are hereby respectively levied by said Co�zncil as respective
special assessment against the said respective parcels of real
properties for the respective amounts all a's set £orth in said
report hereinabove quoted, ancl as contemplated under the provisions
of said Chapter 22 of Part 3, of Division 7 of said Streets and
Highways Code, which said respective liens shall respectively
continue until the respective assessments and all respective
interest amounts thereon are reapectively paid, or until they are
respectively discharged of record.
� Section 4. That said Council does hereby elect to
proceed under the alternative method of collection provided for
under the provisions of Section 5728 of said Law (Improvement Act
of 1911) hereinaboVe referred to and doea hereby authorize, instruct,
and�order that the Notice of Lien shall be delivered to the County
. Auditor of Los Angeles County� California, who shall enter the
amount thereof on'the County Assessment Book opposite the description
of the particular property, and the amount shall be collected
� together with all other taxes thereon against the property. Said
County Auditor and the Assessor, and the Tax Colleetor of said
County of Los Angeles who perform tax assessing ancl tax collection
functions for the City of Lynwood are hereby authorized, instructed,
directed, and ordered to take any and all action necessary or proper
on their respective parts, all as contemplated under the provisions
� of the lawa of the State of California in sueh cases made and
provided.
Section 5. Said County Assessor, said County Tax
Collector, and said County Auditor are hereby authorized� instructed,
directed, and ordered, upon receipt of such notices of lien, to
receive the same and thereafter proceed to add the respective amounts

of the respective assessments indicated in said respective noticee

of lien as'hereinabove set forth in said.above report of said
Street Superintendent, to the next regular bill for taxes levied
against the respeetive lots or parcels of land therein described
or referred to, and to enter the respective amount thereof on the
County Assessment Boolc opposite the respective description of the
respectiVe particular properties described and'referred to in said
respective notices of lien as set forth in said report� and the
respective amounts therebf shalT be collected with all other taxes
thereon against the respective properties described. Said County
Officers, and each of them, are hereby further authorized, in-
structed, directed, and ordered to perform any further acts on
their respective parts, all as contemplated under the law in such
cases made and provided. �
Section 6. That this resolution shall take effect
immediately. � �
Section 7. That the -City Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this resolution; shall make a minute o£
the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings
of the City Council of said City in the minutes of the meeting at
which time the same is passed and adopted; shall enter the same
in the Book of original resolutions of said city; and shall cause
a certified copy thereof to be delivered to each of said respective
County Officers above named. '
