RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD GN ING NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION
OF THAT CERTAIN PROPERTY IN THE UNINCORPORATED
TERRITORY OF THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES LYING
ON THE EAST SIDE OF FIRST AVENUE BETWEEN FERNWOOD
I AVENUE AND JOSEPHINE STREET (FERNWOOD AVENUE `
ANNEXATION N0, 3).
' WI�REAS, pursuant to the "Annexation of Uninhabited Terri-
tory Act o£ 1939 as amended, there has been presented to the City
Council of the City of Lynwood, California, a petition dated July l,
Zg64 executed by Jim W. Ruby, requesting the annexation of certain
property lying on the east side of F'irst Avenue between Fernwood
Avenue and Josephine Street, in the County of Los Angeles, State of
California, and lying within the following described boundaries:
Beginning at the intersection of the westerly prolon$a-
t3on of the northerly line of Lot 9 of Tract No. 8716
as shown on map recorded in Book 145, pages 63 and 64
of Maps, in the office of the Recorder of the County
of Los Angeles, with the center line of First Avenue,
60 feet wide, as shown on said map; thence southerly
along said center line to the w�sterly prolongation �
of the southerly line of said lot; thence easterly in
a direct line through the southeasterly corner of said
lot to the boundary of the City of Lynwood as same
existed on February 26 1964 (in the first alley
westerly of Atlantic Avenue); thence nor:therly and
� westerly along said boundary to the point o£ beginning,
f WHEREAS, said territory is uninhabited, unincorporated
territory contiguous to the City of Lynwood, and
WHEREAS, said petition is signed by the owner of all land
in such territory and represents all of the assessed value of such

territory according to the last preceding equalized assessment ro11
o£ the County of Los Angeles, State of California, in which such
territory is situated,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
Section l . That pursuant to the "Annexation of Uninhabited
Territory Act of 1939 ,�� as amended, the City Council of the City of
Lynwood hereby gives notice of said propos�d annexation.
Section 2 , Said territory is hereby designated for identi-
fication as "Fernwood Avenue Annexation No. 3.��
' Section 3 , Said City Council hereby gives notice of and
fixes the 4th day of August, 1g64 at the hour of 7:30 p.m, in the
Council Chambers in the City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road, Lynwood,
California, as the day, hour and place wheri and where any person
owning real property within the city who does not also own property
in the territory to be annexed, may appear before the City Council
of said City of Lynwood and show cause why such territory should not
be so annexed.
Section 4 . The City Clerk is hereby directed to cause a
copy of this resolution to be published once prior to said hearing,
in the Lynwood Press, a newspaper o£ general circulation, printed and
published in said City of Lynwood,
