RESOLUTION N0 62-15
RESOLUTION OVERRULING PROTESTS AND ORDERING
THE WORK IN THE MAT`ITER OF THE IMPROVEMENT OF
CORTLAND STREET BETWEEN WRIGHT ROAD AND CHECK
AVENUE, LOUISE AVENUE BETWEEN CORTLAND STREET
AND THE SOUTHERLY LINE OF LOT 5 OF THE SLAUSSON
TRACT, AND CHECK AVENUE BETWEEN CORTLAND STREET
AND THE NORTHERLY LINE OF SAID LOT 5 BY THE
CONSTRUCTION OF SANITARY SEWERS, TOGETHER WITH
ALL INCIDENTAL AND APPURTENANT WORK,
WHEREAS, the City Council oP the City of Lynwood, on the
20th day of November, 196z adopted Resolution No 62-8o declaring
its intention to order the improvement o£ portions of Cortland Street,
Louise Avenue and Check Avenue, all easterly of Wright Road, by the
construction of vitrified clay pipe sanitary sewers, including man-
holes and pump station, together with incidental and appurtenant
work, and
WHEREAS, Tuesday, the 18th day of December, 1962, at the
hour of 7:30 p,m, at the Council Chambers in the City Hall in said
City of Lynwood was the time and place set in said Resolution No.
• 62-8o when and where any objections to the proposed work or improve-
ment, or to the district of land to be benefited by and to be liable
for the cost and expenses of said work or improvement would be heard
by said City Council, and
WHEREAS, said City Clerk has presented and filed his af£i-
davit of mailing notices of improvement�and public hearing to=a�.l
persons owning real property which is proposed to be liable to pay any
part of the cost of the work, whose names and addresses appear on the
last equalized assessment roll of the County of Los Angeles, and
WHEREAS, at said public hearings which were held on the
18th day of December, 1g62 and continued to February 5 and February 19,
ig63 twenty-two protests were £iled against any of the things proposed

to be done or to the extent of the district to be liable for the
cost of said improvement,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Lynwood that said protests are hereby overruled and in the
opinion of the City Council the public interest and convenience
require the work or improvement as set forth in said Resolution No,
6z-8o to be done upon submission to the City Council by the City
Engineer of written agreements that 66 per cent of the property
owners within the proposed district will, upon completion of said
improvement, connect the building connection sewers to the main line
sewers, as provided in Ordinance No. 737.
