HomeMy Public PortalAbout16-9178 Implement a 32 Hour Work Schedule Sponsored by Vice Mayor Holmes RESOLUTION NO. 16-9178 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO IMPLEMENT A 32 HOUR WORK SCHEDULE BY REDUCING THE WORK SCHEDULE TO A 4- DAY WORK WEEK WITH 32 HOURS PER WEEK; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Opa-locka is in need to address its current financial situation; and WHEREAS, 32 hour work week schedule will permit the City to begin to address and alleviate its financial challenges. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA LOCKA, FLORIDA: Section 1.The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference. Section 2.The City Manager is hereby authorized to implement a 32-hour work week schedule by reducing the work schedule to a 4-day work week with 32 hours per Week. Section 3. The operating hours of the police department will remain and park facilities will remain unaffected by the resolution Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
