RESOLUTION NO. 16-9179
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO TERMINATE THE CONTRACT WITH
THE PRIVATE SECURITY GUARD COMPANY, AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO IMPLEMENT A
VIRTUALSECURITY SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM TO BE
HOUSED IN THE OPA-LOCKA POLICE DEPARTMENT,
AND OTHER MEASURE TO SECURE CITY FACILITIES;
PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS,The City is experiencing a financial challenge; and
WHEREAS, In an effort to assist in the City's financial recovery, it is in the
best interest of the City to terminate the contract with the private security guard
company to reduce or eliminate the associated expense; and
WHEREAS, A virtual security surveillance system, and other measures can
be used to secure City facilities.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference;
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorize to terminate the contract
with the private security company currently providing service to the City and
to implement a virtual security surveillance system to be housed in the Opa-
locka police department, and other measure to secure City facilities.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
