RESOLUTION NO.01-05
RESOLUTION APPROVING A MIDWEST
GOLDEN GLOVES BOXING EXHIBITION ON FEBRUARY 13th AND
TOURNAMENT ON APRIL 8th and 9th, 2001
AT THE MEDINA BALLROOM
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes 1992, 341.08 requires the consent of the governing body of any
municipality before the Boxing Commission issues any license to conduct boxing or sparring
exhibitions in the municipality; and
WHEREAS, Midwest Golden Gloves/Minnesota Tool and Die Association have requested consent of
the City Council to conduct amateur boxing matches on April 9th and 10`h, 2000; and
WHEREAS, the said boxing matches were conducted last year and earlier this year without any
problems; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Medina that the Midwest Golden
Gloves/Minnesota Tool and Die Association are hereby authorized to conduct boxing matches at the
Medina Ballroom on February 13th and April 8th and 9th, 2001 contingent upon the following
conditions:
1. Certified copy of the State License for said matches to be filed with the Administrator -Clerk -
Treasurer.
2. One uniformed, sworn police officer, approved by the Medina Police Chief, shall be in attendance.
Said officer to be reimbursed by the promoter.
3. Premises shall be closed by 12:00 Midnight.
4. Promoter shall provide Administrator -Clerk -Treasurer with a Certificate of Insurance from the
promoter's liability insurance carrier, providing for coverages of $1 million for bodily injury and
$100,000 for property damage.
5. The Medina Police Chief is authorized to stop any boxing show or take appropriate action to
discontinue an unlawful or undesirable activity associated with any boxing show conducted within
the City of Medina.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member
Carolyn Smith and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
Ferris, Smith, Workman, and Zietlow
and the following voted against same: None Absent: Lane (arrived after motion was approved)
Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
