RESOLUTION ASCERTAINING AND DETERMINING RATE OF
, PER DIEM WAGES FOR CERTAIN CLASSES OF LABOR IN
THE_MATTER OF THE IMPROVEMENT OF BEECHWOOD AVENUE
BETWEEN CALIFORNIA AVENUE AND LYNWOOD CITY PARK
BY THE REMOVAL OF EXISTING CURB AND GUTTER AND
'• BY THE CONSTRUCTION OF CONCRETE CURB AND GUTTER
' AND DRIVEWAY APPROACHES, TOGETHER WITH ALL
INCIDENTAL AND APPURTENANT WORK,
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lynwood,
' California, as follows:
. WHEREAS, pursuant to an act of the Legislature of the State
of California known as the "Labor Code," the City Council of the City
of Lynwood is required to aseertain the general prevailing rate of
�, per diem wages and the general prevailing rate of per diem wages for
legal holidays and overtime work in this locality for each craft or
type of laborer, workman or mechanic needed to execute the proposed
� contract for the removal of existing curb and gutter and by the con-
. struction of concrete curb and gutter and driveway approaches, in
Beechwood Avenue between California Avenue and Lynwood City Park, in
accordance with plans and specifications No. 1962-W-3 on file in the
office of the City C1erk of said City of Lynwood.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does
hereby resolve as follows: .
Seetion l, The City Council of the City of Lynwood does
' hereby as'certain and determine that. the general prevailino rate of
- hourly wages, in the locality in which �aid work or improvement is.to
be done, for each craft or type of laborer, workman, or mechanic needed
� to execute the'contract for furnishing and delivering certain materials
and supplies in connection with the improvement hereinabove described
, and in accordance with Plans and SpeciPications No. 1962-W-3 on file
in the office of the City Clerk of said city, is as follows.:

I Overtime Rates: Overtime rates, rate of pay for Saturdays, Sundays

collective bargaining agreement applicable to the particular craft

- Any classification omitted her2in, not less than �2.50 per hour plus
_ employer payments set forth in the collective bargaining agreement
applicable to the class or classification of the workman or mechanic
involved, (
Provided that notwithstaiding the general provisions con-
. tained herein, fla men uards and watchmen shall be aid one and ri'-

half times,the prevailing rate for overtime (overtime shall be time
worked in exeess of eight hours per day or forty hours per week), and
. the straight prevailing rate for time worked on Saturdays, Sundays,
and holidays where such time does no+ constitute overtime.
The £oreeoing prevailing wage schedule is based upon a
working day o£ eight hours, and in the event that laborers, workmen
or mechanics are employed less than eight hours per day, the rate of
' per diem wages shall be deemed to be that fraction of the fore�oing
rates that the number of hours of employment bears to eight,
, The rate o£ compensation for any classification not listed

' in,the schedule, but which may be required to execute the proposed
_ work, shall be commansurate and in accord with the rates specified
for s,imilar and comparable classifications or for those performin�
. similar or comparable duties.
