Home My Public Portal About63-052 (08-20-63) RESOLUTION N0 63-52 A RESOLUTION OF THE INCORPORATED CITY OF LYNWOOD ESTABLISHING TAX DISTRICT NUMBER 1 OF SAID CITY, FIXING THE RATES OF TAXES, AND LEVYING TAXES FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING TULY l 1g63 and ENDING J 30, i964. The City Council of the City of Lynwood, California, does hereby resolve as follows: Section l . Tax District No, l . That for the purposes of taxation, all of that territory and lands lying and being in the cor- porate limits of the City of Lynwood, California, prior to February l, 1g63 be known as and constitute Tax Diatrict No. 1 of said city, Section 2 . That the amount of money necessary to be raised by. taxation upon the taxable property within the corporate limits o£ the City of Lynwood, County of Los Angeles, State of California, in max District No. 1 of said city, to provid'e for carrying on the various functions of municipal government in said city for the fiscal year beginning July 1, i963 and ending June 30 1964 is hereby fixed at the sum of Two Hundred Thirty-seven Thousand Seven Hundred Thirty-seven and Seventy-nine One-Hundredths Dollars ($237,737.79), Section 3 . That in addition to the amount of money necessary to be raised as aforesaid, the amount of money necessary to be raised .. :. by taxati'on upon the taxable property within the corporate limits of said city in Tax District No. 1 of said city to provide for the payment to the State Employeesi Retirement System according to the terms of contract with the State of California for making the officials and employees of the City o£ Lynwood members of the State Employeesrt• Retirement System, authority for the execution o£ said contract as granted by Ordinance No. 426 adopted by a vote of the qualified electors of the City of Lynwood the 16th day of April 1946 for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1963 and ending June 30 1964 is hereby fixed at the sum of Seventy-one Thousand Ninety-two and Seventy-two -1- One-hundredths Dollars ($71,092,72), Section 4. That for the purposes of raising the sum.: of money necessary to be raised by taxation upon the taxable property within the city limits of said City of Lynwood as the revenue to carry on the functions o£ the various departments of said city, to provide payment to State Employeest Retirement Fund as authorized in Ordinance No. 426, the rates of taxes are hereby fixed and taxes are hereby levied on all taxable property within the city limits of said city, included in Tax District No. l, for the fiscal year beginning July l, 1963, and ending June 30, 1964, upon each $100.00 of the assessed value of said property as assessed by the County Assessor and equalized by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles, State of California, for the said fiscal year, as follows: For General Purposes $0.45 For City=s contribution to State Retirement Fund authorized at Election held April, 1g46 $0.13 Tota1 $0.58 Section 5 , Pursuant to the provisions of Ordinance No. 608, adopted by the City Council of said city on the 16th day o£ February, 1954, the City Council does further resolve that the City Treasurer has filed with it a report that there is in the "Swimming Pool Bonds, 1954, Interest and. Redemption Fund" of the treasury o£ said city, a sum suf- £icient to pay the interest on said bonds as it falls due, and such part of the principal as will become due for the fiscal year beginning July l, 1963, and ending June 30, 1964. Section 6 , The City Clerk is hereby directed to forward immediately to the County-Auditor-Controller of Los Angeles County a certified copy of this resolution. Saction 7 . That the City Clerk of said city shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and cause the same to be published onee in the Lynwood Press, a weekly newspaper o£ general circulation, -2- published and circulated in said City of Lynwood, PASSED and ADOPTED this 20th day of August 1963.
