HomeMy Public PortalAbout2001-013 Resolution Authorizing Publication of Ordinance No. 325 by Title and SummaryMember Phil Zietlow introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO.01-13 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION OF ORDINANCE NO. 325 BY TITLE AND SUMMARY WHEREAS, the city council of the city of Medina has adopted Ordinance No. 325, adding a new section 832 to the city's code of ordinances establishing a business park zoning district; and WHEREAS, the business park zoning district ordinance is approximately 24 pages in length; and WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, section 412.191, subd. 4, allows publication by title and summary in the case of lengthy ordinances or those containing charts or maps; and WHEREAS, the city council believes that the following summary would clearly inform the public of the intent and effect of the new business park zoning district ordinance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the city council of the city of Medina that the city administrator -clerk -treasurer shall cause the following summary of Ordinance No. 325 to be published in the official newspaper in lieu of the entire ordinance: Public Notice The city council of the city of Medina has adopted Ordinance No. 325. The ordinance establishes a new business park zoning district. The purpose of the district is to provide an attractive, high quality business park primarily for office, high quality manufacturing and assembly, and non -retail uses in developments with harmonious transitions to residential uses. The ordinance establishes permitted, conditional and accessory uses within the zone. It establishes development standards which are applicable to all uses and some which are specific to each permitted or conditional use. The ordinance recognizes that most of the property which will be placed within this district is currently undeveloped and seeks to set a high standard for new development which occurs in the future.
