RESOLUTION N0 63-73
A RESOLUTION OF THE CIZ`Y COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OF
SAID CITY TO SIGN FOR AND ACCEPT SURPLUS
FEDERAL PROPERTY AND AUTHORIZING VARIOUS OTHER
EMPLOYEES TO SELECT AND TAG SURPLUS FEDERAL
PROPERTY AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION N0. 61-40.
WHERE�AS, by Public Law 655, 84th Congress (70 Stat. 493)�
The Federal government has authorized the donation of surplus
Federal property for civil defense purposes; and
WHEREAS, certain conditions are imposed by the
Federal Civil Defense Administration, the.Department of Health,
Education and Welfare, the California Disaster Office, and the
Surplus Property Diviaion of the State Department of Education
in connection with the aequisition of such property; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood desires to become eligible
to acquire such property; and
WHEREAS, a new Civil Defense Director has recently
been app0inted;
NOW�, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED by the City Council of
said city that Kenneth Erickson, City Manager, shall be and is
hereby authorized as a representative of said city to sign for
and accept surplus Federal Property in accordance with the '
comditions imposed by the above agencies; and
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that Mrs, Genevieve Francis,
Purchasing Officer, and Allen L. McDaniel, Civil Defense Director,
employees.of said City shall be and are hereby authorized to
select and tag surplus Federal property, also in accordance with
the conditions imposed by the above agencies; and
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 61-40 is
invalid and is hereby rescinded; and
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of this Council
is hereby authorized and directed to send two (2) certified copies
of this Resolution to the California Disaster Office, for filing
with said Disaster Office and with the State Department of Education;
and
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution of authoriza-
tion shall remain in full force and effect until amended, super-
_ seded or rescinded by resolution of this Council transmitted in
duplicate to the California Disaster Office.
