DL'X1JSSICN Mayor Reiman repOlted that they recently had an issue just a few nights ago where a young man fi'Olll Carteret was shot and killed. Two (2) months ago we had a seminar on Gang violence and dlUg awm'eness. We invited the parents of one thousand (1000) Middle School Children. Approximately thirty-five (35) parents showed up. We are going to hold a similar seminar for High School Students and their parents. We hope that they will attend. For anyone who thinks that there are not gang problems in suburban areas, they are wrong. Gang problems are all over this nation, in urban towns and suburban communities. You all read about the problems in Princeton Borough and other Township. It has nothing to do with ones location. Every City and every County and every State in the Nation have these problems. Only collectively working together with the parents, teachers and law enforcement and local officials can we hope to solve these problems.
