A RESOZUTTON ABANDONING THE PROPOSED IMPROVE-
' MENT OF PORTIONS OF UNNAMED STREETS COMMONLY
KNOWN AS CORTLAND AVENUE .AND LOUISE AVENUE AND
A PRIVATE STREET COMMONLY KNOWN AS CHECK AVENUE,
ALL EASTERLY OF WRIGHT ROAD, BY THE CONSTRUCTION
� OF VITRIFIEll CL�Y PIPE S�NITARY SEWERS„ TOGETHER
" WITH ALL TNCIDENTAL AND APPURTEN9NT WORK,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the Cit�* of Lynwood has
conducted improvement proceedings £or the construction of vitrified
elay pipe sanitary sewers, together with al1 incidental and appur-
� tenant. work, in portions of unnamed streets commonly known as
Cortland Avenue and Louise Avenue and a private street corrmionly
known as Check Avenue, all easterly of Wrieht Road, pursuant to
an act of the Legislature of the State of Cali£ornia designated as .
' the Streets and Highways Code, Division 7, cited as ° The Improvement
Act of 1911," and amendments thereto, and
WHEREAS, the City Council on the 5th day of December, 1g61,
adopted Resolution No. 61-77 awarding the contract.to the Beecher
Construction Company for the aforesaid.work or improvement, and
WHEREAS, a written con�tract was executed on the 8th day of
Januar�s, 1962, between the contractor and the City Engineer/Superinta�-
dent of Streets for the aforesaid worl� or improvement, a� described.
in Resolution of Intention No. 61-62 and as shown on Plans and Speci-
fications No. 1961-L-3, and
WHEREAS, it now appears thaz due to certain deficiencies
in the easements and/or rights of wav in, along and upon Check Avenue
the improvement bonds appurten,snt to said work or improvement might
be invalid,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Lynwood that the proceedings for the proposed aforesaid worlc
or improvement as set forth in the Resolution o£ Intention, No. 61-62,
passed and adopted b;l the City Council on the 3rd of October, 1961
and as shown on Plans and Specifications No. 1961-L-3 be abandoned
and all resolutions and proceedings appurtenant thereto are hereby
rescinded; that the City Engineer/Superintendent of Streets ia herebv

authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City an agreement
. for the cancellation of the aforesaid contract entered into by the
�' City Engineer/Superintendent of Streets on the 8th da;� of January,
1962.
