RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD, CALIFORNIA DECLARING THE RESULT OF THE
SPECIAL ELECTION PERTAINING TO THE ANNEXATION
OF "LUGO PARK ANNEXATION N0. 3" TO THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD, HELD IN SItID TERRITORY ON FEBRUARY 13,
196z. .
WHEREAS, a special election was held and conducted on the
13,th day of February, 1962, in the territory hereinafter described
for the purpose o£ submitting to the qualified electors residing in
said territory the question whether or not such territory should be
annexed to, incorporated in, and made a pa.rt `of the City of Lynwood.
Said territory is d.escribed as follows;
Beginning at the intersection of the center line of
Beechwood Avenue, 60 feet wide, with the easterly line
of Wright Road, 50 feet wide, as shown on map of Tract
No. 10634 recorded in Book 165, pages 40 to 43 inclusive,
of Maps, in the office of the Recorder of the County of
Los Angeles, said intersection being on the boundary
line of the City of Lynwood as said boundary existed
on June 23, 1961; thence westerly along said center
line of Beechwood Avenue, westerly along the center
line oP Beechwood Avenue, 80 feet wide, as shown on
map of Tract No. 10978 recorded in Book 191, page 6
of said Maps, and continuing westerly along the center
line of Beechwood Avenue, 50 feet wide, as shown on
map of Tract No. 7984 recorded in Book 90, pages 34,
35 and 36 of said Maps, to the intersection of the
northerly prolongation of the westerly line of the
first alley East of Virginia Avenue, as shown on said
map of 'Pract No. 7984; thence southerly along said
northerly prolongation and westerly line and its
southerly prolongation to the southerly line of
Century Boulevard, 100 feet wide, form�rly Morton
Road, as shown on map of Tract No. 6728 recorded in
Book 125, pages 19 and 20 of said Maps; thence easterly
along said southerly line to the intersection of the
boundary of the City of Lynwood as said boundary existed
on June 23, 1961; thence northerly and following its
various courses to the point of beginning.
WHEREAS, it appears that notice of said special election was
duly and legally given; that a voting precinet was properly established;
that election officers were appointed and eleetion supplies furnished,
and sample ballots and polling place cards were mailed to all qualified
registered voters residing in said territory, and that in all respects
said election was held and conducted and the votes cast thereat received
and canvassed and the returns thereof made and declared in the time,
form, and manner as required by the laws of the State of California

governing such eleetions, and all of the laws pertaining thereto, and
WI�REAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood met in the
Council Chambers of the City Hall on Tuesday, the 20th day of February,
1962, to canvass the returns of said election and declare the results
to be as hereinafter stated.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Couneil of the
City of Lynwood, as follows:
That the proposition submitted, the number of votes cast
for and against said annexation, and the total number of votes cast
are as follows:
"Shall Lugo Park Annexation No. 3 be annexed to
the City of Lynwood?"
In Favor Of: 62 ,
Against: - g9
Total Votes Cast: 151
Therefore, it is hereby declared that a majority of the
votes at said special election was against the proposed annexatien,
The City Clerk shall enter on the records of the City
� Council a statement of the result of said special election showing
the number of votes in £avor of said annexation, the number of votes
against said annexation, and the whole number of votes cast, all as
required by law.
