CITY OF MEDINA
RESOLUTION NO.01-34
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION OF
ORDINANCE NO. 337 BY TITLE AND SUMMARY
WHEREAS, the city council of the city of Medina has adopted Ordinance No. 337, an
ordinance adding a new section 835 to the city's code of ordinances establishing the rural
commercial holding zoning district; and
WHEREAS, the rural commercial holding zoning district ordinance is approximately 7
pages in length and contains maps; and
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, section 412.191, subd. 4, allows publication by title and
summary in the case of lengthy ordinances or those containing charts or maps; and
WHEREAS, the city council believes that the following summary would clearly inform the
public of the intent and effect of the new rural commercial holding zoning district ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the city council of the city of Medina that
the city administrator -clerk -treasurer shall cause the following summary of Ordinance No. 337 to be
published in the official newspaper in lieu of the entire ordinance:
Public Notice
The city council of the city of Medina has adopted Ordinance No. 337. The ordinance
establishes a new rural commercial holding zoning district. The purpose of the district is to provide
a district which is consistent with the area guided for commercial reserve in the city's
comprehensive plan. This is the area (generally, the westernmost portions of T.H. 55) which is not
yet served by urban services but which will one day be included in that area. The ordinance
establishes permitted, conditional and accessory uses within the zone and provides for development
standards applicable to all uses. The district is similar to the recently adopted urban commercial
district and the city's old rural commercial zone b eludes nsive uses. The full text of

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the city council of the city of Medina that the city
administrator -clerk -treasurer keep a copy of the ordinance in his office at city hall for public
inspection and that he post a full copy of the ordinance in a public place within the city.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Carolyn
Smith and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
Ferris, Lane, Smith, Workman, and Zietlow
and the following voted against same: None
Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
